Nelle famiglie Italiane, l’animale da compagnia per eccellenza non è più il cane, come lo è stato tradizionalmente per decenni, bensì il gatto.
Oltre ai "gatti di casa" esiste una popolazione di gatti che vive libera ed è gestita da persone che se ne prendono cura fornendo loro cibo, acqua, ripari e cure.
è quindi utile approfondire la conoscenza del loro comportamento.
Il corso ha lo scopo di fornire ai proprietari di gatti, o meglio a coloro che dai gatti sono "posseduti", tutte le Informazioni necessarie per poter impostare un rapporto sereno con il proprio compagno di vita, di favorire la comprensione delle basi comunicative del gatto e di fornire gli strumenti necessari per poter affrontare le problematiche di gestione, al fine di fare prevenzione di eventuali patologie comportamentali.

Obbiettivi dell’incontro:
Fornire una corretta Informazione relativamente ai bisogni dei gatti ed al loro benessere al fine di ottenere una sana e piacevole convivenza gatti – esseri umani;
Promuovere i doveri etici dell’uomo verso i gatti di casa che vivono liberi;
promuovere abitudini e comportamenti igienicamente corretti nei confronti degli animali.

Laureata nel 1988 col massimo dei voti in Medicina Veterinaria presso l’Università di PISA con tesi sperimentale sulla brucellosi ovina e nello stesso anno abilitata all’esercizio della professione di medico veterinario, iscritta all’Ordine di Veterinari di Firenze e Prato.
Nel 1990 consegue presso Università degli studi di Pisa la specializzazione in "Patologie dei Piccoli Animali" col massimo dei voti e tesi sperimentale sull’HIV felino.
Nel 1992 consegue la specializzazione in "Sanità Animale e Igiene degli Allevamenti e delle Produzioni Zootecniche" col massimo dei voti, tesi sulle patologie da Lentivirus nei piccoli ruminanti.
Nel 2007 consegue il master di IIlivello in "Medicina Comportatale degli animali d’affezione" presso l’Università di PISA con tesi sperimentale su "parametri e indicatori di benessere dei gatti in gattile".
Tiene una rubrica settimanale su una radio locale di Empoli su temi inerenti la clinica e il comportamento del cane e del gatto.
Collabora con quotidiani e riviste locali su temi inerenti il comportamento del cane e del gatto, collabora con la sezione ANFI Toscana per la consulenza comportamentale in expo.
Pubblica su argomenti scientifici inerenti il gatto su ANFI Magazine ed inoltre
collabora alla traduzione di articoli scientifici per PawPets.
Dal Maggio 2010 è Consigliere Regionale Toscana dell’Associazione Nazionale Felina Italiana (ANFI).

She graduated in 1988 with honors in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pisa with a thesis on experimental ovine brucellosis and in the same year enabled the exercise of the profession of veterinary surgeon and member of the Order of Veterinarians of Florence and Prato.
In 1990 at the University of Pisa specialization in "Diseases of Small Animals" with honors thesis and feline HIV.
In 1992 the specialization in "Animal Health and Hygiene of Animal Breeding and Production", with honors thesis on diseases and by lentiviruses in small ruminants.
In 2007 she obtained a Master's Degree in "Behavioral Medicine of companion animals" at the University of Pisa with a thesis on "benchmarks and indicators of well-being of cats in the shelter."
He holds a weekly column on a local radio Empoli on topics related to the clinical and behavior of the dog and cat.
Collaborate with local newspapers and magazines on topics related to the behavior of the dog and cat, worked with the section ANFI Tuscany for behavioral counseling in the expo.
Share on scientific issues related to the cat on ANFI Magazine and also
collaborated on the translation of scientific articles for Pawpeds.
Since May 2010 he is a Director of the National Association Regional Tuscany, Italian Feline (ANFI).
